Onew the Live: Percent (%) in Atlanta

Written by: Crystal Borges ONEW made his grand appearance in Atlanta for the Onew the Live: Percent (%)  tour here at the Atlanta Symphony Hall on January 18th. Bringing an end to his first solo world tour and an unforgettable experience to those attending.

ONEW, a Korean artist well known for being the leader and lead vocalist of the K-pop sensation SHINee, has been taking the stage since 2008. No matter if he’s showcasing himself in a group or as a solo artist, he has displayed his incredible talent throughout the years. Most recently dropping his second studio album last July, PERCENT, one of the main focuses showcased this tour. Including performances throughout the night of Animals, Far Away, and MAD. 

If you’re familiar with the tour, ONEW is no stranger to running into the crowds during his show. When faced with a restriction that unfortunately did not allow this, he made sure to provide something extra special to give in return for Atlanta Jjinggu. Jjinggu being ONEW’s special name for his fans. The surprise? A  basket full of gifts to throw into the crowd. It was nice to know the Atlanta stop would have a special memory. You could see the fans filled with anticipation doing their best to capture a special gift from their favorite artist. 

The encore ended with a song off his latest album, Happy Birthday. An uplifting track which captures the beautiful feeling of being amongst your favorite people on a joyous occasion and wanting it to last forever. Just like how you could feel the artist and those in the crowd feel the exact same way. Many of these fans have grown up listening to ONEW and have followed his career for years. He’s an artist who has made a blueprint and will continue to make his mark. Not just for K-pop, but in the music industry as a whole. Whether he’s alongside his members or showcasing as a soloist, we can all agree we are excitedly waiting to see what's next.
